Fainting spells? |
you know when you stand up really quick and you can get light headed? well this is similar to what happens to me except it happens out of nowhere. ill just be doing something and then my legs will get weak, my vision starts to go and then i colapse.sometimes for minutes at a time. then when i regain my vision i am usually on the ground or leaning against something. soemtimes it happens when im in the shower and i hit my head on something. when i was younger i fell off my bike and landed on my head and was unconsious for about 20 minutes. my dad never took me to the hospital to get some head scans and a few years ago i found out that i have anemia...could this possibly be why i am having these spells? what other possiblities? i am currently taking iron pills for my anemia but i am still having the spells...what should i do? i do not have insurance! HELP Yep... You need medical assistance. Go. You might ask the doc if it could be dehydration adding to the problem. Check the color of your urine - if it is bright yellow and esp if it has a strong odor, you are dehydrated. This can contribute. Drink more water!! Mix in a little Gatorade (not a whole bottle) drink extra water as long as you are taking Iron pills. Don't take more pills than your doc recommends. You might ask about diabetes check as well!! Good luck! oh - and don't drive to the doc's, get a ride from someone. Your fainint spells are a result of anemia and low sugar levels in your blood, make sure you eat a well balanced diet everyday, eat lots of meat, green vegs and fish. You probably do have anemia, And it can cause fainting spells. However, you should also keep a watch on your blood pressure. That can cause problems with vision. There are a lot of health shows, etc that are free that will check your blood pressure for you if you take advantage of them. Your local health department or aging center can tell you when the next health show in your area is. They will also sometimes have blood sugar testing (low blood sugar can also be a reason for fainting) and cholesterol testing at these shows. They are all free to the public, and many people do not take advantage of them. You also could have some inner ear problems as well. Those would only be able to be seen in a doctors office. There are other major problems that can cause fainting spells, but since you say that you have had them since you were a small child, It is probably not major. yea it probably is the aneamia, I have aneamia and I used to get this, go to you'r doctor, he'll be able to helpbetter than anyone on here! |
