How do you prove your No Claims Bonus?

I've just renewed my bike insurance with a different company because they were cheaper. I've not made any claims this year so I choose 1 years no claims when filling out the form.

What do I need to do now? Will my old insurer send me some documents to prove my 1 year no claims. I take it my new insurer will need some type of proof?

The NO CLAIMS bonus refers to the fact that you haven't had any claims with your CURRENT insurance company. If you were with your previous one for 3 years (or 4,5,etc...) and never filed any claims THAT'S WHY you had a no claims bonus.

If you change your insurance to a new company.. you can't have a no-claims bonus because you're NEW to them. Of course you can't have any claims yet.

You might see a discount (if any) when you RENEW with them.

Don't confuse "No Claims Bonus" with a "Safe Drivers".

You should have received a renewal notice from your old insurance company. This is the proof your new insurance company would need. Your old insurer may not send you proof unless you ask for it. Good luck!!!!
