Can I modify a Honda CBR125R to make it quicker?

If I was to buy a Honda CBR125R could I modify it in any way to increase to top speed (only to 70-80mph) or acceleration without voiding insurance or making the bike illegal to ride with just a CBT.

I would buy the CBR600RR but I can't get insurance on it yet so I won't bother with my Direct Access yet.

Also what is the 0-60 of the CBR125R?

Don't listen to Bear. Higher grade gas NEVER effects performance. The only thing it does is prevent knock. So you'd only need a higher octane level with a higher compression ratio. This is one of my biggest pet peeves as far as cars and bikes go. My other two pet peeves are giant spoilers on front wheel drive cars and people who use the PSI rating on the tire to fill up their tires with air. racing exhaust
racing air filter
smaller rear sprocket.
long time since i modded a bike but i did these.and i used to get about 72mph out of my 50cc bike.

too the post below i would be unfair to argue about the sprockets but in my case i never bored the head and when the sprocket wore down i was sent the stock large one which slowed me right down.Back to a small sprocket, on torque it was a little slow but soon shoot up and top end was risen again.
If you change sprockets you'll loose power unless you bore out the cylinder head to increase the horse power. New exhaust and running a 92 octane will help some. But remember it's a 125, this is not a race bike on the road. It's a small race bike for the dirt.
Just an old Harley rider.
have you looked at insurance for like a 250 ninja?

i dont know what kind of experience you have, or what you would use the bike for, but a 125 should give you enough to do basic stuff... a 250 would be better for you, though. even the 250 is a little bit harder on highways.

with all the mods you can do to make it faster, it would be cheaper to just buy a bigger bike.
French market Cylinder Head, Cam, Inlet, Carb, CDI, Exhaust, Piston.
The UK CBR motor is designed to put out no more than 14 bhp and is not "restricted" as such.
80 mph means it would need to be putting out around 25 bhp, which is a pretty decent amount for a 4 stroke 125.

Totally illegal for a CBT.

Save your money for DAS lessons when you're 21.
