What should i do about my car accident? |
ok this is the breakdown, i was coming out of a intersection turning into the lane closest to me when i see a man on his motorcycle. I slam on my brakes and come to a complete STOP. The man on the motorcycle swerves to miss hitting me and the end of his bike slames into the front of my car leaving a hole and serious stratches . His bike came out unharmed with only a peddle bent partialy. He said i didnt have to involve the insurance company and he would go get an estimate (his guess was 500!) i told him i think i would go through my insurance(he was against that) I think he is trying to get over on me because im a teenager....so what should i do? my car is wrecked........he wants me to pay but i didnt even hit him! HELP you need to get the insurance involved. just know that your insurance will sky rocket because you are a teenager. so whoever is paying yoru insurance will be really upset. good luck...sounds like a bad situation.. get 3 estimates on your car -----show him on paper how much damage you have if her dont agree dont back up -call the cops bet he dont have any insurance. he hit you right? gm tech-have a beautiful golding too.(fully insured) you usually have to notify police if damage is over a certain amount (varies from state to state, I think California is $500). You don't say where the man on the motorcycle was or what he was doing, so it's hard to say who is at fault. If you're at fault, you need to pay to fix his bike. depends what state u live in. laws regarding accidents and reporting them vary from state to state. It depends on the situation. With the information you have given, it is impossible to know who is at fault. Was there a traffic signal? If so, who had the green light? This could easily be settled by going through an insurance company. However, in this case, the insurance company will decide who is responsible for the accident and that person's insurance premiums will rise.
