I am getting a problem with my motorcycle alarm, it keeps going off. how do i solve the problem? |
my insurance insists that i use the alarm,but i can't trust the thing.it's already started to upset the neibours. i have had the bike from brand new, it is only 14 months old the alarm was fitted with the bike as part of the deal. it's worked fine up ti'll now; what should i do? i have looked at the manual,i have had ago at resetting it,now i am at a loss;it is still happening. The alarm is set off with a mercury switch that when the bike is disturbed the murcury moves and closes the contact. the switch looks like a vial with silver fluid in it, the switch should have an adjustment so you can tilt the vial and decrease the sensitivity, that way every time the wind blows you won't wake the neighbors. The switch will still go off if the bike is raised upright. Next time it goes off, leave it off. Take it back to the dealer that fitted it. what make of alarm is it. I have had problems in the past with 2 alarms but have cured them both. |
