If you are found not at fault for an accident, will your ins go up?

I was in an accident (minor) with a guy on a bike. No damage to him or his bike (he refused medical and rode away from the accident). I have a dent, but I'm not pursuing it. The cops found him at fault. I filled out a police report, just in case the guy claims damages later.

My question is, since the cops found him at fault, if he starts a claim, will my insurance premium go up?

If he files a claim against you the insurance company will do their own investigation as well, so it would depend on how the insurance company finds you, it does not matter what the police or accident report states. Source(s): licensed insurance agent
that will depend on the amount of his claim. if he sue's you, you can bet on it.
Nope, if it's not your fault they won't raise it.
If he was at fault, it's not likely he will start a claim. If he does, with a no fault and no pay out from your insurance, it will not effect your rates at all.

Hold on to the police report for a while though, just to be sure.
