Vespa knocked over? |
I parked my Vespa in a space between two large driveways. There's room there for at least two bikes, and I frequently park there, along with other motorcycles/scooters, with no problems. Some man in a Jeep (not one of the driveway owners) knocked my scoot over, and did a large amount of damage. His insurance company is, of course, paying to have it fixed, but they'll only pay for a rental car, while I'm denied my ride. The problem is, I spend $3 on gas per week, and don't want a rental car, which will cost me who knows how much in gas, plus they don't pay mileage or extra insurance. So, I'm on the bus, or stuck getting rides from friends.... What is my recourse for reimbursement for all this trouble and money I'll have to spend? All because some yuppie on his cellphone didn't watch where he was going? I'm furious, but I know insurance agencies...it's impossible to get any sort of recompense for my *life* being disrupted. Any suggestions? thanks. that will all come up a settlement hearing, good luck . don't sign your rights away , your entitled to a lawyer that will take 25% of settlement its your loss so you should give them a round house figure on what all you lost in this . I do know that in the state of Texas you can get money for that sort of inconvenience but if I were you just take the rental car. It works and I don't think it'll take more than like a week to fix it. Glad to hear that you avidly rid your scoot though! Great alternative to cars but if you have to just suck it up and drive the car. Call up his insurance guy and give him an earful. It's possible the guy will cut you some slack. |
