Paint my motorcycle?

I have a Honda Rebel 250 and I'm thinking about painting it black with pink and silver designs. I want people to know I'm a girl rider + my fav. color is pink. If I do this, I'm afraid I won't be able to sell my bike when the time comes to get a new one. Should I just keep it blue like it is? Give me your thoughts. Will people laugh? My fiance says girl riders are hot. I have a pink and black and silver helmet and pink and black gloves. I want everything to match.

It's called customizing...and it should reflect what you like and how you feel...a motorcycle, as you have already learned, is much more personal than a car or truck...it's an extension of your body. I'd say paint it. If you get ready to sell it, you can paint it again, back to what it was. I would have it done at a professional shop to get the best design and results. Hmm... I have to admit I am a little surprised that there hasn't been a guy on here stating that the fact that you are riding a Rebel 250 is advertisement enough that you are female...! Seriously, how long have you had the bike and how long do you think you'll keep it? Speaking from experience, I would say that there are other ways you could invest your money and get good girly looks and long-term performance, too. Like your leathers, for instance.
Do you really think the Rebel will be around for ages? ...or are you so passionate about riding that there's a good chance that after a few track days and months, or a year, of riding you find yourself wanting - or needing - to upgrade to a 600 for instance. THEN you are really gonna want to spend your money on your baby. Believe me!
Anyway darlin', most people, even the ignorant ones, can spot a female rider a mile away- pink or no pink!

just buy a new bike, used or new. and bigger to keep longer then you can change things on it. as for being a girl rider my hats off to you. don't worry about other persons noticing your a girl. Just Ride On.

customise it as much as you like..... don't be bothered by anyones opinion. I say good on you girl!

Your fiance is correct! Girl Riders are hot! Everyone who meets my wife learns that she can ride and rides with me all the time thinks she's a really really cool lady. All her gear matches with her bike. Red black and silver striking helmet, black silver jacket, red black silver stiking bike.... Very nice to look at once matched!

Paint it.

Paint is considered to be an accessory on motorcycles, and as such will usually not increase the value and will never decrease the value of the motorcycle, unless you use paint that is not suitable.

Yeah, paint it. I don't think you'd have a hard time selling a 250cc girly bike. Now, if you were painting a 900cc bike girly, I wouldn't do it.

Paint it and sell it to a girl.
