Please help Ive got over excited and have split my helmet?

I recently took up trials biking on a weekend to relieve some stress and generally have some fun. I have become a bit of a dab hand at it and have been pushing myself to the limits, last weekend I had pulled off some great moves and got a rush of blood to the head and tried a trick I hadn't done before, bad idea, I went flying over the bars and have split my helmet in 2, can it be repaired or do I need a new one?

New one i am afraid. The helmet has done what it should and needs replacing, the foam which is the core of your helmet renders useless when it gets a bump or split and it can not get fixed. When someone drops there helmet the foam gets a dent and becomes hard but brittle so best get changed or it may not save your life.

I would not trust second hand helmets because you don't know what it has been through.

This is funny

haha lol you should be more carefull, your helmet is quite important in that activity

No you will need a new one. A helmet should be replaced if it gets damaged in anyway nevermind being split in two.

get a new one....dont take the risk of f***ing up your head.

your even supposed to get a new helmet even if you get a little crack.

hope this helped :)

helmets are one hit wonders, like a cars crumple zone. you gotta replace it dude. have you got a video of what you did? i seriously wanna see it.

which tosser is giving the thumbs down to everyone? i wanna smash you whoever you are

get someone to kiss it better.

you need to buy a new one, unless you want your head to split into two. Have you thought of going to a second hand shop, or consignment shop? There are places that just sell used sports equipment.

Speaking personally, I'd get a new/ secondhand one as a repair would be likely to put your life at risk.

lol
sounds painful can you still pee?

I wouldn't worry too much it sounds like you probably won't be using your helmet for real for a long, long time or until your past adolescence anyway.

i've damaged my helmet befor doing tricks i once broke my banjo string going in dry !.

you need a new helmet. Once broken it will not give you the same protection. You have only one head !! Look after it.

You need a new one, Even fixing it will not be the same.
So don't be crazy and play it safe.

jesus dood.throw it in the bin.its done its job and is now useless.
there designed to take the impact and split if necessary so your head doesnt.
its only a souvineer now.

NnewW OoneE Once a helmet is compromised it will not protect anymore So if you want to use it for something find someone that needs a flowerpot because thats all it will protect.

i would try super glue to heal it your head i mean? GET A (NEW HELMET ) DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT SAFETY FIRST PLEASE

do not repair...buy a new one...it saves your life at the end of the day.

defo need a new one. evn if you drop your helmet on the ground they say it is no good. better safe than sorry need your head i presume.

Your clever!!!. yes mate you need a new one, but don't throw your old one away keep it as a souvenir

You only have one head mate... buy a new one!

try the following.

dkoffroad.co.uk
dirtbikebitz.com

both seem to be the big players in the industry.

Hey! Nice stunt!

Your helmet took the impact that would have split your skull. It served its purpose. Get a new helmet now.

Fixing it will NEVER restore it to its original strength. Riding with a split helmet is very ill advised as the helmet now is NOT EVEN CLOSE to its original strength.

Really -- get a new helmet. Protect your head!

You'll need to buy a new one. Once the styrofoam liner is compromised, it's time to get a brand new helmet. Sorry.

Unless you can pick one up from ebay that hasnt been used, I would give it a miss as you dont know if the helmet has had an impact or not, if you buy it second hand.

No helmet for you. Natural selection will work (hopefully) this time. It saved your brother according to you, yet you can't see the light. Yeah, natural selection, such a great thing.
