My son has banged his head? |
my son has fallen off his bike on a gravel track he was wearing a helmet which was a good job as the helmet is scratched to pieces so goodness knows how bad it could of been had he not been wearing it. but he has caught the side of his head on the edge of his temple and it has come up in a hard lump, he seems fine now and after the initial shock and he seems physically ok. I was just wondering why the lump is so hard and should I take him to the doctors. It sounds like a minor injury and provided he shows no unusual symptoms like sleepyness, confusion, changes to the appearance of the eyes, he should be ok. I think he should be okay, but if you're worried make an appointment with your general physician. hope he feels better soon ;D always take a child to the doctors or hospital if they get a bang to the head, just to be on the safe side, also do not let him go to sleep until the doctor has checked him over, he is probably perfect, but i suggest to take him asap If you haven't already taken him to a doctor, you are guilty of neglect and perhaps child abuse. A head injury is always serious! if you're really worried you should take him to the hospital, otherwise you can keep a close eye on him to make sure he's not concussed. without doubt yes take him as soon as possible yes doctors will know what exacatly has happend and whether it is something to worry about or not. The temple is a very delicate part of the head and if you continuously press them hard you are likely to fall uncouncious. (i wouldn't try it if i where you! and sorry for the bad spelling) it hink he will be ok but check to see if he has a concusion by going in the dark and flashing a flash light inot one eye and if the pupil changes size he is ok if it does not take him to the doctor,, put ive on the bump Keep an eye on him. UK? Phone NHS direct on 08 45 46 47. They'll talk you through what has happened and what may be happening. yeah its probly nothing but still take him to the hospital to be on the safe side i would get him checked out just in case Nowadays the correct thing to do would be to take him to the doctor or casualty as soon as you can. Head injuries can have repercussions that we don't know about at the time, and so it is wise to be on the safe side. He is probably fine, kids are very resilient! Not being funny, but I wouldn't be sitting on the PC asking questions!! If you're any way concerned and for your own piece of mind get him to the hospital. |
