Do you people know hard it is to be a Mormon? |
We have to ride through the worst parts of town, wearing dress clothes and toting back packs. I have had my bike stolen twice, laughed at, and stung by a bee that got inside my helmet. I continue to do this because I want to help people who really need it. I just don't understand why more people don't do ride alongs with us to experience all of the joy we do. If you are a Mormon, can you share your Mormon experience with me? If you are not a Mormon, can you be nice? it's hard to be human. you have the choice to be mormon and fulfill your mormon duties, or not to. human choices are hard. i lived in a bad town when i was a kid. there were certain streets my friends and i could not walk down because we would get jumped. there was police caution tape every morning because of a stabbing or a shooting. when my mom was out of town or out dating, i stayed with a mormon family, sometimes for weeks on end. i ate with them, prayed with them, went to wednesday nights at church with them, went to church with them. did i live in a bad town and have a mother who wasn't around because i went to mormon church - NOPE! when i got older, i had to make the decision: convert and live a mormon life - full of no drinking, conservative clothes, no rated R movies, my best friend and love of my life being on mission for 2 years... but i decided not to. i lost the love of my life... rarely talk to him anymore. i've been abused, raped, graduated college, have a good job and a loving boyfriend, have pets, got a flat tire, i got stung by a wasp, i was laughed at when i tripped and fell on the stairs at student teaching... does any of that have to do with me not being mormon?? nope - it's the life i chose, just like mormon is the life you chose. so deal with the hard parts and enjoy the good parts and don't complain about it... especially if you blame it on a choice you made. Is not your mission required to be only 2 years? I know it must be hard, but don't the JW's preach their whole life? It is what you religion dictates. You can choose another one if you like. i have a good idea since i spent 20 yrs in a different cult The same goes for all religious people pal What? Is this question sarcastic? I don't get it. I won't feel sorry for a self made victim, if that's what you want?? Doctor it hurts if I do this. Don't do that. |
