Is it weird to wear a bicycle helmet while skating? |
do you think it makes you look stupid? well anything on you looks stupid ryan. Try wearing a hat, itll protect your head and not llok like your a dork. not if you buy a bmx helmet / "stack hat", the bowl shaped ones look alright, but the more shapely cycle specific helmets do look a little dorky. But if that's all you've got it would do until you can afford a proper one. Dude, no more stupid than if you didn't wear your helmet, wiped out and hit your head just because you were worried about how you look! You're talking about your own personal safety. Who gives a rat's a-$-$ what you look like when you're trying to protect yourself from serious injury. If the helmet has not been in a crash and meets safety standards, wear it! If any body says differently to you, that's their problem, not yours. So the simple (and obvious) answer is, no, it's not weird or stupid. You MUST wear a skating helmet while skating - any other helmet will preclude you from this sport. Bicycle helmets are ONLY for bicycles. Could you wear a fireman's helmet for skating? NO! Could you wear a football helmet while skating? NO! Get real. Not if you fall and hit your head ! "Look stupid" ? Not to me. Being macho can be stupid though. if its a dirt lid (potty style) helmet but an x c lid or a full face that will look dumb what you should get is one of those long aero helmets they use during the time trials of the tour de france; then you'll be lookin' ballerific! i skated for about 4 years and i had a regular sk8ing helmet. i think pro-tech?? now i'm in to road races and triathlons and have one of those aero helmets. just rock out the gear specific to your sport. |
