Does anyone know if a child that has a bicycle with training wheels have to wear a protective helmet? Absolutely! A seemingly trivial bike accident can cause very serious head injury. No helmet can protect against all injuries, but making a habit of wearing a helmet EVERY TIME they are on a bike, without exception, will make safety easier later. Source(s): I have worked on bike safety campaigns, and I have had serious injuries from bike crashes -- I almost lost an eye once. In Ontario Canada all kids under 16 must where helmets, training wheels or not. Absolutely Yessssssssssssss!!!!!! Doesn't matter if it has training wheels, it's a bike. YES. Even training wheels don't stop ALL spills off of the bike and the head should be protected, unless you want your kid in a coma for lack of a helmet. Yes, my daughter has had a helmet on her head since before she could even pedal the bike. mommy of 2 |
