I was watching a bull riding championship on TV the other night. Maybe I just don't get out enough, but when did the riders start wearing safety helmets instead of cowboy hats?!! I'm all for saftey, but it ruins the classic look of the event! Who ever heard of a cowboy in a bike helmet? Doesn't really seem to go with the Wranglers and chaps. So what's the story with that?
to many bull riders were getting their noses and face shattered from the bull heading them in the face and causing lots of damage, they said it was up to the riders to wear the gear, it isn't a rule that you have to wear it, but a lot of them are to protect the face area |
