Is this gift appropriate? |
Okay, so my brother and I don't talk. I have recently tried to reach out to him to no avail, however he has a son who will be 6 in February that I want to get a Christmas gift for. Is it inappropriate to buy him a bike and helmet? I don't want my brother to be offended by the gesture. the bike an helmet are just perfect...dont worry...he'll just love his gift and adore u as an aunt....children are children....as for your brother..i think he'll come around....dont push things with him.when he sees the way u and his son is getting along things will fall into place.your brother will also admire you as an aunt even if at first he doesnt show it. good luck and go right ahead give him the bike it is a very nice gesture but I would buy something smaller in case he does not allow the child to have it That is very appropriate and your nephew will love you. Hopefully your bond that you and your nephew have can mend the bond that you and your brother once had. i think a gift card from toy are us would be better. If you are not sure what size of bike he needs. I think he would not be offended you are the aunt. He may be offended as that is a little extravagent. However, why are you and your brother not speaking? I mean what happened that caused this rift? If you want to get your nephew something - get him some hot wheels or something but I don't think I would buy the bike. Merry Christmas! Aunts are allowed to buy their nephews and nieces what they choose. I see nothing wrong with a bike and helmet. Can't see why your brother would be offended by a gift like that. Why would that gift be inappropriate? Because it's too expensive? It would be a wonderful gift, but maybe you should scale down a little bit. It might be the sort of gift he himself would like to give... |
