At 44, how do I get my behind back in the Marines? I'm ready...? |
I've been out since 84, gained 30 lbs but would love to fight. Not for the Bush, but with my brothers in arms. Plus, it keeps from sending an 18 year old in my place. They need people, they should take me. I haven't done anything dangerous since riding my bike without a helmet. Seriously, they should have a program for us old ba$tards. I hate the war, but I love the Marines. Semper Fi brothers I agree. I would love to re-enlist...Sadly we are too old. Semper-Fi, Devil Dog! Source(s): Former Marine I am not a brother or a Marine. I wish I could join too, but I am in my 30s and have a toddler and a husband. I don't know...I think the cut off age for the Army is 42. But since you have been in maybe they will take you back. I can't get in contact with my brother (in the Marines) right now, but you could call the recruiting office. I hear that all the armed services are taking people back (re-enlisting?). Good Luck. Well, as much as I hold most of your questions and answers in total contempt, I do respect your service, and desire to do so again. Why not look into organizations that send them basics? My girfriend and I send soldiers crap like toothpaste, etc. She handles the particulars, so sadly I got no links for ya. And how is it Bush's war when he got congessional approval? You should know better than that. See a recruiter! As hard up as they are for enlistees these days, you might just have a chance! You never know until you try! The only chance you would have is in the reserves. More than likely the Marines will say no, I currently serve with many prior service Marines but the Army is pretty open to prior service. |
