I am about to take my DAS and want to buy a Honda shadow after looking around, I could afford a new one but am thinking as its my first bike, have to by helmet,boots,insurance etc may be more sensible to get a second hand one. Is there much difference in the models between those years? I have only seen this bike in the show room, pics of older on internet look similar but is there much difference? thanks
Depends which model of Shadow you are looking at. All of the 750cc Shadows prior to 2006 had a chain drive. The 2006 Shadow Spirit is still chain drive, but the 2006 Shadow Aero has a shaft drive, which gets rid of the pain of having to oil the chain. Other than that, they are still the same basic engine for all the model years.
there isnt really much difference so i would suggest u buy a second hand one. Try ebay there are a few as i have been thinking of buying one myself
More modern ones have a shaft drive which is one less hassle. Other than that only paint has really changed so just go with what you fancy.
