How can I convince my mom to let me ride a Motorcycle? |
My mom is fairly conservative thinking. I really wanted to ride a motorcycle, and she uses safety issue to disapprove me. I mean I am already 20, you would think I could make my own decision, But, no, I am in college and broke. That is the reason I need her approval. I already said I would wear helmet and drive locally. I said I need a bike to get around the campus thats all. again, she is blinded and kept saying motorcycle is unsafe. what should I tell her? any idea.? Is motorcycle really unsafe? Check out the college you are attending for a motorcycle safety coarse. This will at least show her you are serious about the safety issues. If you take this you will be able to present the completion cert to your local DMV for your license endorsement plus you will get a discount on your insurance. Hope this will help. Motorcycles are only as dangerous as their drivers & the people around them. Yes, they're unsafe. Terribly unsafe on today's streets that are full of insane people. Listen to your mom - she loves you. Don't. Listen to your Mom. I've had motorcycles three times in my life. Each time ended in accidents. One of the times I was in the hospital for a month. It's not you or the bike. It's the other drivers. Do yourself a favor, buy a beater car. Better in the rain too. They saying goes that if you own a motorcycle, at some point you will have to put it down. So in other words, even the safest and most experienced riders have had at least one accident. While a lot of fun, the chances of you getting into an accident and most likely suffering injury is high. You're terribly exposed and even the best of safety gear cannot protect you fully. I've seen some moronic driving around motorcycles and witnessed far to many horrible accidents. There isn't much you can do on a motorcycle to avoid collisions or injury. You're mom probably just likes having you around and having you in one piece. With the power and balance of a motorcycle they are inherently unsafe particularly in inexperienced hands. They are really dangerous in the rain. Listen to misskate, and remember what happened to Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers. This may work, tell her to understand that fuel economy is better in a motorcycle, than a car. And dont get a rice rocket. Just get a 250-400cc motorcycle, and get your motorcycle endorsement (if your state requires it), and if not, take the motorcycle class anyway, to show her you know what you are doing.....i hope that might work..... Unfortunitly u can't .. ur mom lovez u more than to allow u2 do somethin' that would risk ur life.. try puttin urself in her shoez for a sec, would u allow ur kid to do it ??! she only lovez u & doeznt want anything bad to happen to u & u should understand that 2accept why she'z not lettin u ride on.. |
