What are the advantages and disadvantages of bicycle helmet laws? Advantages: You could fall and break something. Disadvantages: Does looking dorky count? Advantages - lives saved, injuries prevented disadvantages - hmmm..... nope, can't think of any. Might be worth thinking about the impact on as a possible negative, and complacency.. Disadvantages - More government con troll over our lives. I grew up at a time without helmet laws or seat belt laws and survived just fine. Too many radical wackos in the government now that want to con troll everything we do. more control equals less freedom. Soon we will live in a society where everything we do and say will be controlled or censured. Disadvantage = Brain Damage There Is a greater chance of head Injury If a helmet Isn't worn. Advantage = Lower cases of serious head Injury's. Ohhhhhhhhhh, my Brother brother brought a new Motorcycle yesterday. That a sure need for helmet wearing. about 80% of cyclists wear helmets and about 80% die helmeted, meaning helmets have little effect on saving lives.
