What is the age you need to be in order not to have to wear a helmet for a bicycle? There is no federal law on bicycle helmets, and the laws vary quite a bit across the country. In some places individual cities pass laws about, and in others whole states. Some of the laws are limited to children under 16, others to those under 18, and some even require helmets for all ages.
