Why are bicycle and skateboarding helmets so expensive?


you'd think they would make them more affordable so more people could buy and use them. i can't find a decent helmet for under $35.

Because they can be. The makers charge what the market will bear. If hardly anyone wanted them they'd be a lot cheaper.
Yeah, that's a lot of money to protect your head from terrible injury. What a ripoff. Much better to pay for the brain surgery later.
Would you rather pay little to protect what is truly your most valuable assest?
because they are so strong you wouldn't have a chance to bust your head
