Disc brake problem?

Hi I've got avid juicy 3 disc brakes and am having some problems. The front disc is catching the pad, so how do you adjust it to stop it catching. Secondly the rear brake sorta vibrates and seizes making a really bad sound and doesn't even stop the bike when you pull the lever. I know i could take it to a bike shop to get fixed but I want to give it a go myself first, so if anyone has any ideas that would be great, thanks.

As much as you want to try to fix this yourself, I would REALLY advise that you don't.

Your problems can be from something as simple as a contaminated pad or as complex (and hard to find) as a cracked hub.

Be safe, take it to a shop.

i had similar problems with my deore discs. when the bike is stationary pull the brakes on and look to see if the disc is pulled to one side. if so the caliper needs re-positioning so that they all line up together. on the shimano ones i just loosened the allen bolts that hold the caliper onto the the bracket, pulled the brake on which grips it to the disc and then tighten the bolts back up. it should all be lined up now.

i replaced the pads straight away because of the un-even wear and it is all good again.
