I took my 2002 yamaha r6 to the shop and had it rejetted because it was running bad.?

It runs really strong for the first 15-20 minutes of the ride but as it warms up, it would bogg down and run crappy. They just rejetted the bike and cleaned the carbs, but the shop told me it is still running crappy. What else could it possibly be after the carbs and jetts were redone? They say it ticks. Could it be bad valves???? Please help.

I had the same problem with mine. It would get warm, stall and not restart. The problem i had was the carbs werent adjusted correctly and the fuel ratio was off. It took the "mechanics" at the shop i went to 4 times to get it right.

when was the last time you checked the valves? b/c it's very possible that's the problem. get them to check if they're in specs. maybe have it dyno'd if that doesnt work? that can help find out if somethin is wrong with the engine (of course). is it gettin enough fuel as it warms up? ya never know, fuel lines could be expanding/contracting and pushing too much/not enough fuel into the engine. could be any of these and multiple more...try posting on an r6 dedicated forum of some sort, should get a for sure answer.

Bad coils - when the get hot, they stop working. Then start working again after they cool down.
One of them could be bad.
Check for spark when it starts to run crappy.

the bike may be jetted for a certain temperature.you did not say if you had a aftermarket pipe or mods?were do you live?most bike are jetted for warm weather.also try ignition advancer.sent some more info i can help...how many mile if alot you need a valve adjustment..shop should have figured that out take it to a yamaha dealler

You need a new mechanic.
Saying it runs crappy and ticks is something anyone can do.
A real mechanic should be able to say why as well.
And then fix it when you say "OK".

Follow guardrailjim's advice and check your coils.
