So I was going to buy this bike....? |
I went to a small dealer to buy a fairly low priced brand new motorcycle. We talked about taxes and fees and he called to order the bike to be delivered to his shop for me. When I went to hand him my credit card to make the down payment, he said he would rather take a check because credit card companies charge fees to buisnesses. Ok, that's fine with me, I told him I would be back the next day with a check for the down payment ($1,100). Well when I went home, I found the same exact bike for $1500 less but, it's 2 hours from my house. So I had to figure out what would be cheaper, renting a trailer, driving 2 hours (each way) gas etc. or buying from the guy 20 min from me. Turns out driving 2 hours and renting a trailer and gas money and the price of the bike is a lot cheaper then going to the guy 20 min. from me. Well when I first talked to the guy close to me I was still figuring it out. Now he just called me and told me he needs the down payment cuz the bike is there.......... I don't want to buy that bike now. I never signed anything he just has my info. Phone number, address etc. Do I owe him money or can I just ignore his calls. He's getting irritating. tell him you do not want it -plain and simple , there is no contract? he has no way to make you buy it, , if he keeps calling you tell him you are not buying it and not to call again, or you will get him for harassment Did you tell him you got a better deal? Maybe when he hears that he'll drop his price.... If you didn't sign anything then NO. The dealer should have taken care of that prior to having the car delivered to him. However, be a grown-up and tell him what is going on. If he wants your business and has enough room in the deal to come close to the price of the other bike, give him the opportunity to do so. Plus, it might just save you a 2 hour trip and the extra money shipping it back. |
