Shop charges $8 need, to find equation Pls help!?

ok so i found the answer to this word prolem but i dont know how to put it in a equation so could someone please help me!?!

A bike rental shop charges $8 to rent a bicycle (per person), plus $1.75 for every half hour you ride (per person). If the shop charges you and your friend a total of $26.50, how many hours did each of you ride?

i got 1hr and 1/2 i just dont know how to write in equation.

and by any chance do you guys know how to do this one? i have no idea how to do it and i spent a lot of time on it and i still dont understand how to do it.

Lila and Shawna earn $1460 together one week. Lila earns $20 per hour and Shawna earns $25 per hour. If Lila worked 10 hours more than Shawna, how many hours did Shawna work?

So the initial renting fee for you and your friend is $16(8 bucks a piece). Each hour you and your friend will be paying $7 (that's 1.75 for each HALF hour for each of you).

16 + 7n = 26.50
7n = 10.5
n = 10.5 / 7
n = 1.5 hours

20L + 25S = 1460
L - S = 10

Solve this system of equations to get that.
Lila = 38
Shawna = 28
