Why do some men hate shopping or moan when we ask them to join us?

For a lot of women, shopping is one of their biggest pleasures and we would love to share that feeling with our men. Why are they so unwilling to do that for us though?

We are expected to have to share their interests such as football, cars and bikes yet they are often unprepared to take an interest in the things that we like and appreciate.

I thought a relationship was supposed to be based on compromise and give and take.

For those who are unable to read like Fiona F, I said "some" men hate shopping and that a "lot" of women like shopping. Personally I rarely browse and always go with a purpose. I would far rather go into Halfords with or without my man, venture into Claire's anyday. I am the last person to advocate that shopping is a suitable pastime for every member of the human race (where did I imply that?). But someone has to shop or there would be no food in our cupboards, no clothes on our backs and no furniture to sit on. No equipment for our nature walking expeditions either. Each to their own without criticism.

My partner loves shopping with me, as long as we stop in at stores that he likes too. But what's better than helping your girl pick out sexy underwear or a gorgeous new outfit you can show her off in?

I think guys can generally be a bit lazy and don't understand why women don't just go into a shop, get what they want and leave. They're hunters and we're gatherers haha.

men hate it may because end of the day they dont get to shop anythin...lol....just kiddin...but may be who knowz

I dunno, I guess it just doesn't interest them. I personally love going to shopping malls and stuff....I'm straight by the way.

shopping is BORING

we hate shopping because we're not really interested in our clothes and we like to actually "do something" instead of being dragged around a shoe shop and being there for 10 hours because your so addicted to looking good, we don't honestly care which ******* shoes you were and we dont really care of being bored all day.

I wouldn`t go either! My other half takes his girls shopping on a Sunday and i couldn`t think of anything more tedious, i actually hate it. So he goes shopping and i watch the football - bliss..
I don`t think it`s necessarily a good thing for couples to grudgingly do things for each other, what wrong with doing what makes each individual happy.

THE crowded malls, an inability to take decisions, the fear of being sucked into buying something they don't want. These are just some of the reasons why men aren't too keen on shopping.

Women, on the other hand, are the ones to call each other up and make a date to go shopping. They can spend the entire day at it. It's a social outing, a bonding exercise like no other.

Men like the thrill of the chase and hunt. Shopping is neither. Our usual goal is 0-60 dollars in less than 4 minutes. We don't try on clothes because we know what size we wear. (I have a 36" waist and a 36" inseam. So I know that a pair of 36x36 pants will fit me. same with shirts) We hate having to lie or being forced to make a choice that you end up ignoring (blue or red, do these look good on me? does this make my ... look big?)

One of your biggest pleasures is shopping?
I HATE shopping and I would moan too if someone made me go shopping. You say you get involved in your partners interest in bikes? Tell me, who often would you go with him for a browse in Halfords with the chance of nipping into B&Q to see their new line of visor rain repellents?
Women like you do not shop, you browse and you take a very long time to do it, to me that is mind-numbingly boring. I am not saying you shouldn't do it, lord knows I would be most upset if all the local nature walks were suddenly infiltrated by crowds of walking adverts for Claire's Accessories... but I find it hard to believe that you honestly think shopping is suitable pass time for every single member of the human race?

well as men i hate it becuase i find her always confused (to much demanding) about thing which she want to purchase and at times we end purchasing nothing.

Well, give and take can only go so far...lol, no really, it is a joke with my wife and I, when we shop I get grouchy...I don't go to a store to shop, I go to buy. I can't stand just wandering around looking for a way to waste money. Of course, nothing a guy spends money on is a waste...

moaning is done otherwise not in shopping

I've been married to the same woman for 26 years. When we were first married, I went everywhere with her. I found out, as I got older, my feet got more tired, I got more hungry, bored, must faster than if I had stayed home doing what I like to do.
In general, I think it's a guy thing. For the past 20 years she does all the shopping. Sure she gets me paints and shirts and other things, after being that long she knows me better than any other person. Men go into a store, get what they came in for, and get out.....that simple.....game over.
On the other hand a woman like to try things on, walk a mile in the same mall, eat lunch and do the same thing again, until us guys are dead on our feet, then we tell them we love them anyway...we do but why all the pain and suffering?

because men are uninterested and know nothing about girly things (shoes, clothes, accesories etc) and the way we closely examine things before making the perfect purchase bores them to death!

My bf can only stand so much shopping when he is with me (about 30 mins max) and I get really cut because of the constant 'are you done yet', 'can we go home now', 'I'm bored'.

We often go to the mall together and if he wants to see or look at something that interests him and I want to look around for I want, we'll usually separate and meet up every half hour or so at a shop we both like (a bookstore or a DVD store)
:)
Otherwise the condition is that he does not rush me if he wants to come along with me, or he stays home!

Hehehe, it works out well :)

Just do your own thing and let him do his...

wots the point walking round town shop to shop and going back to the first shop they went to,i can walk into burtons buy a shirt in 5 mins, then the pub on way home how easy is that, glad that i am a man,as for food shopping buy what you need not what you think you need or "its on offer"there should be a man section in asda where beer, food and man shopping is.takes me 20 mins in and out and home.shopping done.women only take men shopping and say"need a new dress as i cant wear the same dress as last time"so we are then told we dont care about our partners,i wear the same suit to loads of places and no one cares what i look like so why should i care about someone elses partner wears, its crap, boring and starts rows, people wear what they want for others to say"you look nice dear"and wheres it got you no where fast.thankyou for your time to read this.
