Where should i store my helmet on my 2007 Harley sportster? |
I am purchasing a Harley Sportster and I was wonder where I should store my helmet on the bike when I am not wearing it? Sportsters are for girls?! They were the best performing Harleys before the VRod came around. A well tuned Sporty with straight pipes sound better than any of the other models in my opinion. I'd take retro Sporty chopper any day. Anyway, are you talking about storing it on your bike while you run into the store or in your garage while you are at home? If you want a storage place on your bike, invest in a helmet lock. I'm cheap so I put mine on mirror but that is a good way to brake off your mirror if you are areless. If it is a half helmet I would leave it hanging on my foot peg. My bike is too low so it would still hit the ground. I prefer it on the peg so passer-bys don't notice it as much. On the mirror 15+ years auto customizing 06 Busa sportsters are for girls unless you are one I just hang it on the bars or the mirror. If you are concerned about it getting stolen ,use a small pad lock and lock the 'D' ring to your clutch cable. I also keep a small bicycle type lock and cable in my tool bag and use it to lock my jacket( through the sleeve) to the bike. I got a package of matching pad locks at Home Depot and use them for the helmet, jacket and saddle bags. |
