Unruly Kids In the Store?

Yesterday in the store, I was in the pet supply aisle. One over, a bunch of unsupervised kids were having a bike race up and down the aisles, screaming at the top of their lungs. It was disturbing. I complained at the customer service desk. By that time the bike race was over and they acted like I made the whole thing up. Did I do the right thing?

On your way to customer service, you should have stopped and asked them in your best mamma voice, "What's wrong with you? Why are you acting like wild animals?" If their parents, won't tell them that they are acting like park apes, then somebody has to.
Yes you did. Someone has to!
YES! They could have endangered others so easily--knocked over a little kid or elderly person! Plus they are massively inconsiderate and keeping others from shopping. In a store that size, someone should have noticed and put a stop to it. I'm sorry it didn't work out, but you were definitely doing the right thing. You're not at fault. The kids and their parents are.
i bet the racers were white or messican.
u did good but i woulda pushed the lil s-o-b's into the dog food! lol sorry thats mean but i loathe unruly kids.
yes you did- if their parents don't control them and we as a society have to be the ones to deal with them then we need to do what we can to stop those obnoxious kids
If you were generally concerned for the safety of the unsupervised kids (crashing the bike into a shelf and breaking a bone/scraping up skin/head injury, etc.) then yes--you did the right thing.

If you reported them to customer service simply because they were being loud and playing, and weren't otherwise bothering you (heckling you, chasing you around the store, stealing things from your cart--whatever) then no--you didn't do the right thing. That's considered tattling and it's very childish.
Think of it this way...
The kids could be yours and you would enjoy their having fun.
Would you then run to cx service and tell on your own kids.
The annoying part about european city way of life is that neighbors have become so incredibly against any "immoral' citizenry act of behavior. This is where slaverys came from years ago... from controling people. The other thing is that people feel that they have to be asked by anyone for them to do something, which is absurd from strangers.
Unless the children were swearing and breaking things purposely, there was no need to instigate.
If it were a couple of millionaires thta went in making a bit of noise up and down an isle riding a bike they wanted, you'd be dumbfounded in aww and probably wouldn't move to inform anyone.
Where is the sense of community going when adults have to cause trouble for young generations that have a bit of normal fun. What is the world comming to when adults have to cause trouble for young people in order to feel reighteous and powerful.

Would you select a President that says he or she is against children having a bit too much fun in any public building or location???
To these people, I reccomend picking on someone your own size.
