KHS FXT Trail: Your Thoughts? |
A few years ago, I wanted to buy a full suspension bike, but I saw many that were upwards of $1K. Then I saw a KHS FXT Trail for $350 at the bike store. I noticed so far, the suspension could be better (I also own a 1998 K2 Proflex full suspension bike and the suspension on that bike is worlds above that one) but for $350 dollars, it's better than you'd expect. The shifting could be better, but then again, it's a 350 dollar bike. I think it's probably the best buy you can get for a full suspension, but I want to get other people's opinions on the FXT Trail. Some reviews says it's fine. I think you would be better with a hardtail at that price (will be lighter, probably better components). If you really only want to do XC (nothing too fancy, jumps or anything. If you want a FS bike, also check Ibex bikes (http://www.ibexbikes.com/bikes/ign-1-det... Source(s): http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/xc_full_susp... Not too long ago, I looked at that bike also. My thought was that KHS was trying to offer an alternative to department store full suspension bikes. Don't get me wrong, for $350 it was a great bike. That was a great attempt on KHS's part. Nevertheless, Roberto is right, because full suspension bikes involve a lot of compromises when it comes to price. For that reason, I didn't buy the KHS after all. |
