Should I not get bikes out of the catalog? Should I just get it from the store, i dont know what size i ride? Go to a store have a professional fit you by a store i mean a real bike shop where they can also adjust the bars and seat to safely fit you to the bike, in addition they will make sure your getting the right type of bike depending on the type of riding you want to do ...believe it or not there is no little people category...where the hell did that come from juujuubi?????? Unless you fit in the little people category, you should be able to ride any bike with a few adjustments of the seat. im 5 9", so if your around that hight, then a medium frame should work for you. i still prefer to buy bikes from the store where you can look at everything in detail and test ride it. not everything shown in the catalog is true. there are general fitting methods, but not enough space to list them all. stand over the bike, with the top tube between you legs. there should be a couple inches of space between the tube and your crotch. To start out with, never buy a bike from a catalog because there advertisements are subject to change. Goe to a good bike shop and you noticed I said good as some do not offer fittings or fit kits for there bikes. A good shop will sell you the bike you need for the riding you are going to do. A good shop will take the time, you and the bike in the back and adjust you to the bike by letting you ride the bike while on a trainer and making the proper adjustments. Another word of advice if your thinking of clipless pedals, they can also set you up with those at the same time making sure your leg and ankles are aligned properly with the cleats so you don't damage your knees. At the same time you're building a relationship with the people at the shop, they will think more of you for wanting to do it right. After all is done, ride and enjoy without worry. |
