I am looking for a date to match a old B&W photo store front titled Olympia Wine and Liquor? |
The photo was set to a poster and sold all over wa state the address is 303-11. There are a few men out front one stands next to an old belt or chain driven bike / motorcycle. I would like to know the history to the photo. Approximately 1890's or early 1900's Hi what you could do is look into historical information on the city of Olympia, Washington. Possiblly check with some of the old liquor or wine companies that are still in business if you don't know how to check the history for past businesses. The city registery should be able to give you information on Olympia Wine and Liquor, like when it was opened/closed, who owned it. Most likely if there are men standing in front of the establishment they could either be the owners or family members of the owners. No many people I know take pictures in front of liquor stores, then again the person in the picture could have been on vacation. And if you find out when the store was opened, estimate the age of the person and check the census reports like on rootweb.com, ancestry.com, etc... or death or birth records in that area....if you really want to find out about the people in the picture. Then again you could always find out which company made the poster, track that company down for more details on the photo (if their still in business). It's hard to local information based on what you've given from the photo, without really really digging. But it can be obtained, just keep trying every thinkable link, and government records you can. |
