Are kids growing up too fast? |
I am asking this question after I saw a user who says in her profile that she is 11 years old (but almost 12 years old). Here are some of her questions: "Kissing How-To?" "What is a good oppurtunity to wear a thong and show it off?" "Why do us girls feel so sexy in camis and?" WOW. That's very . . . mature questions to be asking at such a young age. If this person actually is 11, I don't know for sure. But the way they wrote there questions, it seems like they are 11 years old. And by the way, the person has a picture of herself for her Answers avatar. An actual picture, and she does look 11 in the picture. Kids are growing up so fast, don't you think? What is causing this? Shouldn't they be riding there bike to the candy store, or playing board games or something? Whenever kids walking home from school, walk past my house, I here them talking about adult things like sex, and porn. And these are young kids. What's causing this!?!?! Media & Fashion. Have you tried shopping for girls clothing at Walmart lately? They have backless shirts, see through, sayings like "I recycle boyfriends" all marketed to tweens. (Pre-teens). We are sexualizing our children at very young ages so that they become consumers. Its every pedophiles dream. Heck just a year ago the Gap was fined for trying to market thongs to 6 year olds. . .SIX YEARS OLD! Seriously? who the heck even thinks that is good business strategy? Its horribly sad I think and the best I can do is make sure to raise my kids differently. They are and the parents need to take responsibility for allowing them to see these things. Yes, kids are growing up too fast. They're learning grownup things and are very curious about them; but they're not learning good manners, how important it is to make good grades and to study and learn. Many children I see do not know what "respect" means. So, they are growing up about the wrong things too fast and falling behind in what they truly need to know to get them through life. Kids learn too fast and surely atfast rate ba d things even faster rate so dnt worry we all have freedom kids r also free to learn anything they want Typically, these are kids whose parents have dated in front of their kids, exposing their kids to this sexuality that is normally couched in marital bliss by the time kids come around. When my sister's kids got to middle school, she yanked them out and homeschooled them until high school, so shocked was she at the overtly sexual climate permeating the junior high culture. Parents don't need to put up with it, they can act to shelter their kids - if they have the guts - or interest. I assure you, my young teen talks about history, politics, religion, theatre, books, friends - not sex and porn. He is playing board games, walking the dog, hanging out having good fun with his friends. It's probably more common than not. Yes the 60s were better....satan is in great wrath as we near the end of this world as we know it Parents need to raise their own children, not let the media do it. |
