Whats the best motorcycle security device? |
ok, i just got a bike and ive read some articals talking about how easily these bikes are stollen just by picking them up and putting them in the back of a truck. so i guess my question is what does the yahoo comunity think the best way to walk into the store without thinking every 5 sec that mabey someone is stealling my bike.... some suggestions ive had are: insurence, lojack, pager security.... im looking for something thats cheep but will get the job done. mabey insurece is just the best way to go???? i know what ur talkin about i got a croch rocket and i think the same thing... so jus get insurence and always park near a light pole(power pole) and chain it up there they could still break the chain but thats way u still git insurence Club colors. A very mean and nasty rottwieller,,or a wife with an attitude. other than all that you mentioned,,nothing will stop a motivated thief. Truth is, if somebody wants a bike bad enough, they will go through extremes to take it. You want to limit their temptation. If they don't see it, they won't know where to find it. Apartment carports, parking structures, bike shows, hotels/motels, malls and movie theaters are well known settings for bike thieves. Locks can be broken but it makes obstacles for the thief. Try to keep the bike locked up in a locked area such as a living room or a garage. Lojack is available for bikes but the unit takes up space. Unless you have a large touring bike, the thief will look in the 2-3 hiding places on the bike. Choppers don't have a chance with Lojack. Insurance is important. Make sure that you read the contract closely because not all theft insurance is the same. Good luck. Keep it in your house,,,if the ol' lady don't like it,,,,put her outside and let them steal HER A good hardened chain and padlock. Chain your bike to a pole. 6' 10", 275 pound black guy |
