Which is the best living situation to raise kids in? |
Would it be better to raise kids in a smaller town where all there is are houses and farms and the closest store is a 20 minute drive, although there is a church, park, post office in the town. They would be living in a newly built house on around 3-5 acres of land and possibly have horses, cows, and other animals. They would have to ride the bus to school from kindergarten and up. Or would it be better to live in a bigger town with every kind of amenity you could want within walking/biking distance. But the house would be older and smaller with only a .25 to 1 acre of land. They probably couldn't have horses or other large animals. But they would be able to walk/bike to school and be able to do more extra-curricular activites. Country Setting makes sense to me. My parents moved us to the country when my teenage brother started getting into the wrong crowd. I would say if they hadn't my life would be completely different. GOOD BAD??? No one can tell you that. But in my experience - I found that the fast pace of today's society is not as good for the family as a slower down to earth country home. It also depends on how old the children are at this time. If they are older they may rebel against this more sheltered life and not appreciate the wholesome life style- this can be counter productive. If young- this is the time to show your children what really matters in life- not the fast pace city life. "the more you have then the Jones' the better your are" Unless you have a lot of money to live in an expensive neighborhood I recommend a smaller town. you just answered your own question........ I would want to live closer to town, but thats how I grew up. Sounds like you already know the answer to that... large city best with a good mom and dad ANYWHERE |
