HARLEY DAVIDSON riders? |
"New generation" riders, not the bike/brand. Why are newer riders of the company so wrapped up in themselves? They spend more time parked and admiring themselves in restaurant, coffee shops and grocery store parking lots than they do riding the machines. I've noticed that they will park as close to the doors of a business as possible only to "pose." They will wear all of their leathers and skull caps only to go to the grocery store to buy a gallon of milk, again they will sit, pose and have a smoke before and after buying the milk for junior at home. If they, the newborn "junior zoomies" ride as a group, they will find any excuse to pull over and stand around trying their very best to look "Bad to the Bone." Frankly they look like what they are, fools that have more money than they have riding experience. When will this end??? FTW You sound cranky. Why are you lamenting this issue on the computer when you could be riding? (Of course, I should be working, but am waiting on paint to dry.) Ride to Work. Work to Ride! I suppose you prefer riding as a lone wolf, gauging your speed by how well the wind parts your beard. It almost sounds like you're a wee bit jealous that the other guys have friends and aren't all about being cowboys on iron horses. Couldn't agree more. It won't end until the popularity wears thin. They are mostly middle aged guys who didn't have what it took to be a biker in their youth. Now that they are older and have lots of disposable income HD has sold them their fantasy lifestyle. All they are really doing is playing like little boys. None of them even have the nads to actually ride their bike to any of the runs so trailers abound. They want the bad a## image so HD formed their own little "club" for them (HOG) where they can buy a patch instead of earning it. What they can't buy is the respect of real bikers. You sound like another envious,jealous kid looking for any reason to "Dis" Harley's and Harley riders in an attempt to make it O.K. that all you can afford is a Rebel or similar ride. Be patient, put in some overtime you'll be able to afford a nice bike some day. Until then ,enjoy riding what you have and try not to be jealous of others, (Negative energy is a waste) Is this any different than the sportbike riders that ride wheelies up and down the rode trying to be James Bond. If it makes them happy why should it matter to you? I still can't figure out why your type is worried about what everyone else does with there free time. Yes sir, being successful, having a Harley and going riding with friends is a terrible thing, HOW CAN THEY DO THAT!!?? It's very simple really. Just do what they do to anyone who doesn't ride their bike or conform to their image......ignore them! BTW...I think jrrysimmons answer is dead on. |
