What do I get my 2nd grader for Christmas? |
My daughter is in second grade. She's 7, she's the girly type and somewhat of a brainiac, But everything we have suggested for her to put on her list she shoots down! We got her a bike last year and she never road it! We were going to get her a game cube, but she says she doesn't want one. I took her to the toy store to have her point out things that she wanted, but still none of those were a good gift from Santa. And suggestions! any would be greatly appreciated! She's in ballet, she doesn't play barbie, sometimes with her baby doll. She plays her gameboy every now and then. Did you ever stop to ask her what SHE WANTS for christmas. What about new ballet shoes? Does she like puzzles? How about things like sudoku? Maybe she just wants a day out with her parents. How about a coupon book of things she likes to do that you could make for her so when she would want to do them she gives you the coupon and you have 2 weeks to do it for her. Don't get me wrong I'd love a gamecube but sometimes maybe all she wants is time and attention especially around the holidays. I'd ask her why she never rode the bike. Maybe she had no one to ride with. a sock monkey! Get her a new tutu. board games or probably videos of her fav tv show? spongebob,fairy oddparents, jimmy neutron,? Some may think this is a bizarre answer,but...take her to volunteer with you at a soup kitchen.I took my 7 year old son with me to do this on Thanksgiving evening,and it was a good lesson AND a gift for him.Kids today have way too much 'stuff'!This activity can teach them to appreciate what they do have,and not to be greedy. Happy Holidays:) I would say the Nintendo DS they come in different colors and the games are more geared toward kids. I got my 7 year old The pink DS and Strawberry Short Cake game. |
