Getting my energy back?

I started my new job as an assistant manager at a drug store 6 weeks ago. One thing you agree to is an inconsistant schedule. Sometimes you work nights, sometimes days etc. but there's always at least 10hrs between shifts so you can get some sleep.
I was doing fine my first 4 weeks but now I'm tired all the time. All I want to do is sleep all day but I'm sleeping more than ever. I'm also eating more than ever both in calories and amount of food. Instead of drinking water and soda I started drinking Gatorade. Why am I so tired? How can I get my energy back? Nothing different has been going on these last 2 weeks. I am on my feet all day and I do ride my bike instead of drive to work and back. I just graduated from college and I was never this tired before.

Your schedule has change, you might try a good multi vitamin it will help. You are probably still adjusting from all that college work . I remember that.
Any time you are sleep deprived or you sleep schedule changes like that, you will feel jet lagged. This could go on for a while, but it will pass. I see nurses who switch back and forth and do 12 hour shifts like that all the time. It amazes me.
take vitamins on a regular basis
You are so tired because you changed your routine and your schedule. That is normal for everyone. However, if you feel like it is too much, make sure you get your rest when you can and eat healthier. The gatorade gives you the electolytes to keep you going so that is good. If all else fails you can drink a red bull or something to get some energy, but 1 can won't be enough for a hectic 8 hour shift. Good luck!
Riding your bike may be exercise, but for you it's probably not fun. Try some exercise that's fun and that you enjoy - it's a great stress reliever.
Gatorade is a good choice for fluid supplement. You need to try a consume ealthier foods instead of just straight calorie intake. Not only will higher calorie intake create "jet Lag" eventually if you no longer burn the excess calories you will then gain weight. Try salads, etc. higher fibre intake will probably help too. You may have to try a variety of things to find the rigt diet for you as everyone is different & everyones body reacts differentl. Good luck. Multivitamins as well should be consumed daily regardless for good health.
