What ever happened to the "Good old Days" ?

You remember when you were a kid and you could just ride around the neighborhood on your bike all day. It was ok as long as you were home by dark. There was no cell phones to call home on and check up. You went to every neighbors house around (sometimes you didn't even knock). You swam in the neighbor hood creek and walked to the store to buy a coke. Now a days you can't even let them in the yard by themselves unless it is fenced in. WHAT HAPPENED???

That questions rates with...What is the meaning of life. Time is the best I could say. Use to be a time when you knew your neighbors. They would greet you when you were in eye sight. Now it seems people stay away from others as much as possible. With that also comes the trouble that they don't pay attention to whats going on in the 'hood'. Everything that use to be everyones problem(crime) is now anyone's problem but not theirs. Kids used to be watched by all the folks in the "hood". Now everyone just closes their eyes. Sorry to ramble. Just my opinion and u know what they about opinions.
The world was introduced to violent video games and movies.
Life and everyone having too many kids I guess. We would be gone from daylight till dark and momma never had a clue as to where we were at. You know, I never even knew what a pair of shoes was till I had to start going to church when I was about 5. Yep that's a shame our kids couldn't see all that, Wendy.
The 'good old days' never existed. You are looking backwards with 'rose-colored glasses' on.
Humanity has lost certain values that unless we make a big turn-around, we will not recover. So much has advanced in technology but the desire to have more and bigger and better things have made use blind to the fact that our stay here on earth is just something temporary. I am not saying that we can't live with certain comforts but please, at what expense ? We can live the future only if we understand the past and learn from it.
Oh how I miss those days.

Too bad my daughter will never experience them, I won't even let her step her little feet on the front porch unless I'm with her.
Jimmy Carter gave them to the Panamanians.
