Anybody know of a good roof rack for a minivan? |
i have a 2000 Toyota Sienna minivan and i want to get a roof rack system. what do you think of this system? http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/r... i need something cheap but sturdy. does this type of system place any excess stress on the bike in any way? i already have the crossbars on the roof, so this is all i need, right? Do not use a roof rack. You will, not maybe, you will run it into the garage. Sounds like you have decided on a roof rack anyway. You have been warned. Good Luck Looks ok, haven't seen that one before. It's a standard fork mounting, millions have been in use for decades so it works fine. The only risks are that you'll drive into a garage or drive-thru and crunch the bike (happens all the time), and of course it hurts your gas mileage and exposes the bike to 70mph windblasting for hours on end. And if you drive in the rain... plan on a complete overhaul. With our minivan, I put the bike inside the vehicle (that's why Tullio invented quick releases!). Or if the van's full of camping gear or whatever, I have a cheap trunk rack so at least the bike's out of the worst of the wind, riding in the draft of the tailgate. Scott awwwww, pretty red paint....throw some money at it!!! heck, get a hitch mount, roof rack and everything, and make sure it looks good any everything is pretty when your riding down the road, make sure you look like your in a rock music video. buy a bunch of stuff you dont need but put it on display so people know you have it. also try to find something equal to plastic price-wise but is sturdy like titanium. |
