What would happen if we boycotted the oil companies? |
Boycott The Pumps You can't predict much anymore, but one thing that has become pretty predictable is that the price of gasoline will go up in the spring every year. In my opinion it's just a matter of greed. People like to travel in the summer so gasoline companies raise their prices to get the full benefit of our lifestyles You can't predict much anymore, but one thing that has become pretty predictable is that the price of gasoline will go up in the spring every year. In my opinion it's just a matter of greed. People like to travel in the summer so gasoline companies raise their prices to get the full benefit of our lifestyles, making travel and vacation time less and less affordable and pushing up the prices not only at the pump but at the grocery store, and just about everywhere! On the news this morning there was something said or suggested that the government needs to do something about all this. Well the possibility of that happening is pretty remote. It seems to me like people have gotten into the habit of complaining and whining and waiting for someone else to do something about the adversity in their lives, take for instance the lack of voters in the last election. People are always complaining about new laws and restrictions and than when they have a chance to make a difference they don't even bother to vote?? It's time to stop complaining and at least attempt to do something! A Nation wide boycott might not bring the price of gasoline down but at least it will show anyone watching that we as Americans are tired of just sitting and watching others take control of our life鈥檚 and the way we live them, that we will fight back. If we would only drive our autos when we just absolutely have to, car pool when we can, walk when we can, stay home when we can, and use as little gasoline as possible, at the end of a week or month it's going to hit them where it hurts, the bottom line! I'm suggesting that everyone who wants to try to make a difference take the week that runs from June 1st until June 7th and use the least amount of gasoline as humanly possible. Walk, ride with co-workers, take the bus, ride your bike, stay home, what ever it takes to consume less gasoline and see what happens. Spread the word and try to do this on a national level, it will at least send a message! This will go off as a minor blip on their financial bottom line. You can put off buying gas all you want; you'll run out eventually. You will only hurt the people trying to make their own blue-collar living running the stations. Wanna make a difference? Lower your consumption of gas. Buy a hybrid. Get a job within walking distance of your home. Use mass transit. Whats your question? Probably not a great deal, they would suck it up and then go on, cuz eventually we will need to buy the gas Nothing.... I think the internet and the oil companies are in scam with each other.. If they raise prices, the oil companies will make money off those who still can afford it and the internet will make money from those who need to stay home and do everything from home. You are free to boycott any business you wish with impunity. knock yourself out!!!! We should have government control the oil companies and use the profits to help the homeless and poor people. We should also use the money to help the poor in africa and south america. Everyone in this country should be guaranteed at least 30,000 dollars a year. Take all the profits from companies and the rich and we can make it happen!!! Politicians just sit by while we all get gouged by big oil. |
