Fake BMX Bikes? |
My friend and dad says that the BMX bikes you see at Wal Mart and Target are not as good as the 200 dollar ones at sport stores. What's the difference between the two? Wal Mart bikes tend to be heavier and of less quality of bikes at sport stores. Even though sports stores specialize in well, sports and have brands like Haro, Dimondback etc they may not be of top quailty either. I sugest you finding a bike shop (good luck) see if they have BMX and talk to an employee. They're specialty is bikes so they know what they're talking about. Also if you are BMX dirt don't buy into how cool front pegs look. Unless you're doing street or freestyle they are useless. The ones at WalMart, etc. are generally much heavier. The ones at the bike shop will be lighter and therefore better for racing. If you don't care how long the bike will last, then buy the junk at Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc. You get what you pay for... a better bike will last longer, perform better, and is easier to maintain and repair. Wal-Mart bikes are made like trash to keep them cheap! The manufacturer use Cheap Metals, Cheap Labor, and Old Technology. They are made to last 30 days, Then you are screwed when it breaks on you! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bicyclingh... |
