Spray paint question? |
I can't seem to find anywhere that sells spray paint. I want to paint my bike since it's crappy looking. I think spray paint and related items aren't allowed to be sold in Chicago and I haven't found spray paint at any craft or hardware stores. So are there any places that would sell it? Maybe I should go out of state? Many states have laws stating that spray paint may not be accessible on shelves-but I'm sure businesses carry them. Did you actually ask employees if they carry it or just look for it? I've seen spraypaint on shelves locked behind a metal cage so you have to ask for an employee to open it, and I've also seen where you need to ask an employee for what you need, as they are kept in back. You will need to be at least 18 and have an I.D. to be able to buy it. So, go to Michael's or Home Depot and ask someone where they keep the spray paint. :) :) Get a local Hot Rod shop to powder coat it for you -- it will look great and last a long time. Since it's apparently illegal there (I don't know since I don't live there and are taking your word), are you sure you can't just show ID or something. I can't imagine spray paint being illegal to own regardless of age. If you absolutely can't find or order spray paint, get yourself an inexpensive car paint gun (hopefully you have an air compressor) some inexpensive metal or automotive paint, and spray it on that way. I don't know if this is worth it for a bike though. |
