Why do environmentalists drive cars and live in wood houses?

They have no clue what they want--they want cheap gas, but no drilling, they hate to cut trees, but most live in a wood house, they are oh -so- environmental, while driving their gas powered cars...a TRUE vegetarian/environmentalist would live in a forest in a tree, not a house, would walk everywhere, no bike, because making the steel and tires comes from mining---and only eat things that he/she grows and picks, don't let the grocery stores get it for you, it takes fuel to operate a farm, even an organic farm, and to run the trucks in to deliver the food to your local market....

A TRUE environmentalist isn't a fanatic, it's a realistic person who understands that change comes slowly and you have to take little steps to make big changes. There's nothing wrong with living in a wood house -- properly managed, trees are a renewable resource and can continue to provide us with building materials without cutting down rain forests. They can and should be managed like any other crop, with specific areas set aside for growing, cutting, etc.
There's nothing wrong with driving a car, especially if they're fueled by less-polluting and renewable fuels like ethanol. Living in the world today requires getting around to places, and working towards eliminating gasoline as a fuel is a worth environmental goal.
Being a true environmentalist means being a realist, and working towards positive changes that will make our lives better, not require us to revert to a non-mechanized, agrarian existence. And being an environmentalist doesn't mean being a vegetarian/vegan...
Because talk's cheap
you are quite right but get real who would do that these days.
scooby.doo.
These are really extreme views.
There needs to be a balance.
I believe that is your point!!!!!!!!!!!
Because they are all in la la land. Their entire mission is to disrupt. Their hypocrisy makes me sick.As do vegetarians.
I think your are describing an extremist, more than an environmentalist.

First of all, trees are a renewable resource. Lumber for trees today comes from quick growing forests that lumber companies tend to. After an area is harvested a replanting program is put into effect.

The idea is to use environmentally damaging technologies wisely, and to constantly strive to improve them.
