Are manual dirtbikes easy?and which to choose? |
are they easy to learn? because i don't want to stall on my way up a mountain. And everybody says that manuals are better then autos, but which manual? choosing from, honda, kawasaki and yamaha. those are the only dirtbike stores in town. and for other stuff: im 13, don't ride much, but know what to do to shift and all that, im 5' 2'' and want an off road bike. I weigh an amazing 90 lbs. I live in a good riding area (nature wonderland known as the Yukon) and would love to get out there knowing i might break some bones. (what a rush eh?) so pleeze help. rick of the north. It's not too bad. When your on top of a hill, you can use your back brake (right foot) to hold you there while you work the throttle and clutch to get you going. The shift pattern goes something like: 6 (if you have it) 5 4 3 2 N 1 I blew up a new Yamaha engine and it had a terrible transmission that would down shift at wide open throttle as I was getting ready to pull my next gear. I wasn't too happy about that. Practice on some flat land and remember not to pop the clutch out with a hand full of throttle when your in first trying to take off. It's a good way to end up on your back. You should get the hang of it before your first tank of gas is gone. A 4 stroke is better for learning on and for hills |
