Shopping for GPS System - Any Suggestions?


I'm shopping for a GPS system. I travel the country for business, frequently by car. However I may also want to use it on fishing trips or biking off-road. Any suggestions or tips on what to look for would be appreciated. Also, stores that have a good selection. Thanks for your help.

I've used both Magellan and Garmin for years. My favorite would have to be the Garmin for it ease of use. The Garmin Etrex series has different units from simple to not so simple. I use a Etrex Legend (non-color version) as it can be uploaded with maps of just about any type. Topo, off road, waterway, and of just about any location in the world. Bought mine from REI about $200.00 3 yrs ago. Several mounts are available for in the car or on the handlebars of a bike. Uses 2 AA batteries that last about 24 hrs.

YOu could get a GPS system on your phone very cheap.
If you wanna do sports I suggest SPorts Authority or Modells sporting goods.
