Do you agree with these song lyrics???.....? |
We were born to mothers who smoked and drank Our cribs were covered in lead based paint No child proof lids no seat belts in cars Rode bikes with no helmets and still here we are, still here we are We got daddy鈥檚 belt when we misbehaved Had three TV channels you got up to change No video games and no satellite All we had were friends and they were outside, playin鈥?outside School always started the same every day The pledge of allegiance then someone would pray Not every kid made the team when they tried We got disappointed and that was all right, we turned out all right No bottled water, we drank from a garden hose And every Sunday, all the stores were closed was it like this? did you like it better? do you think it should be this way? Dear Ash, So much of th was true. We didn't hve to worry about a classmate walking into class with a semi-automatic and talking anyone out either. ccasionally some fool would pull, out a knife andget expelled , but we grew up wit the loser buying the beer friday nights instead of unloading a 45. And i wholeheartedly agree with bringing God back to school and telling those who demand respect for their beliefs to practice that in regards to those of us who KNOW God exists and want God in school because the founding principles of this country were based on freedom of Religious expression, and Atheism is a philosophy, not a religious practice.Besides, the biggest violation of the seperation of church and state is the "institution" of marriage, considering the FACT that marriage is a sacred covenant between The Almighty and two human beings, not a contract to be shredded in the confines of man's trivial and enslaving legality. The Marriage Vows themselves state the "What GOD has joined together, let NO MAN put asunder" -- so since when is a judge God?? Please excuse my rant but i am very passionate about life . Why don't we just go back to the imaginary happy land of Adam and Eve where everything was perfect until women screwed it up and we could all sing praises to the being in the closet. It was like this for me in Western NE where we didn't have to be so politically correct even in the 80's. I liked it better than where I am now. I have to be careful what I say because there are agnostics and atheists in my classroom. There are also Christians but we are the minority so we have to stay away from the topic. I think God needs to be brought back to the classroom to restore some sense of absolute right and absolute wrong. |
