Bike Storage?

Will it negatively impact the rims/wheels if I hang my bike on a ceiling hook from the rear or front wheel?

If so, what's the best way to store bicycles with an eye for making most of the space?

Thanks.

No you will not negatively impact the wheels of the bike. I have a road bike and a mountain bike which I have been hanging for years. If you think about it a bike ways about 30 pounds on average, and an average male weighs 160 pounds. At any given time when you are riding the bike the 2 wheels are approximately carrying 80 pounds each. So it goes to reason that when you are hanging the bike the wheel is only bearing a load of 30 pounds instead of its regular 80, which is not very much.
no, it won't hurt the bike to hang from its wheels. I hang mine from the ceiling of my garage.

be careful of how you hang, though. for example, you don't want the bike to shift and cause pressure on the spokes as this may hurt the strength of your wheel.
Don't sweat it. You can hang the bike from the rims. It is even hard to harm spokes this way if you happen to inadvertently lean on them. Think of all of the pressure that spokes handle. They can absorb the impact of the entire weight of you and your bike going over trails and rough roads. Partial weight of the bike won't do much.
