Evans Cycles On-Line: Can you negotiate the price down with them?

My local bike shop dont mind if you barter the price down on their bikes, however, they dont stock the bike I am after.

Evans cycles on-line does stock the bike at a reasonable price. My question is:

Could i phone them up and negotiate a slightly lower price over the phone, or would they tell me to get lost?

Thanks

Ask them and find out. However, I have found that the staff, (Only encountered at MK branch), are a bit useless, tending to congregate in huddles near the counter while the one salesman (Manager) gets on with it. They are unable to deal with simple questions.

My adviced to you would therefore be to start off negotiatians with manager only. A friend of mine did manage to haggle a little on a Specialized.

So yes, you can barter, but only with the manager.
You never know. Maybe they are overstock or whatever.

A polite call could do it for you. Anyway, you have nothing to lose, so give it a try.

Talking to the manager as someone else pointed out is a good idea.
in some cases yes but in some cases no

i know they do discount some bikes under a ride to work scheme (which you sometimes have to provide proof for)
on a better note dependant on your ride wouldnt wiggle.co.uk be better (pls there staff are not useless and some i used to ride with )
