Trek Navigator versus Giant Suede? |
My bike choices are down to the ladies Navigator or the Suede. I tried one out today for a bit. They are so much easier to ride than the borrowed bike I have been using this last week or two to start getting the feel of biking again. After reading through input here, I have decided to go with more gears (I think they have 21 or 24) gears. The seat on the Suede was comfier. It is a large cushy sort of seat. The Navigator has a smaller seat and is is padded but is not as thick. The Suede also has nice cushined grips on the handlebars. The Trek does not. Maybe I just need to relax my grip, but I have pressure sores and calluses on my thumbs for riding around the block this week. However, the bike shop that sell the Suede will not actually let you ride them, so I have not tried riding the bike. The Suede would be about $490 Canadian whereas the Trek would be $390 Can. I am not keen on the "wheat" colour of the Suede. I'd like to know other people's experiences riding these. What kind of bike shop won't let you test ride a bike? Honestly, I've never heard of that in over 25 years of cycling. Especially in that price range.. that's just weird. There are lot of different models of the Suede: http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/sear... So I'm not sure which one you're looking at. But I'd definitely find a different dealer to buy it from - one who'll let you test ride. Good luck Scott |
