Chain oil on my jeans!!!? |
Hey guys, Basically iw ork at a bike shop at the weekend, and i make and repair bikes. However, everynow and then i get a bike to repair and i get the oil and roadscum from the chain on my clothes, it seemed to wash outta the other stuff but not my jeans. I have washed them sooooo many times since i did it but there is still a faint dirty mark. Any way to get rid of this?? Anything would be good. nothing to extreme though. ie bleach, white spirit...or fire........................ dont think fire would work. :D My BF's does the same exact things. He has 2 bikes and he wipes his hands on his jeans (drives me nuts). Anyway I use a stain remover, right now I use one called "dual action" and its like 2 liquids, then when you squirt them on your clothes it foams. Let it set....... if they are super bad I rub some detergent on the area with the stain remover liquid. I bought a little scrub brush to scrub the area (not too much). Then wash it. Make sure to check the stain before putting it into the dryer because the dryer makes oil set permanently into your clothes. Good Luck, hope this helps. I fell in motor oil with new jeans on , and rubbed liquid tide on the stains ; let it sit about 5 minutes , then scrub with a brush and wash promptly . If the stains are still there - repeat the process BEFORE you put them in the dryer . I was able to eliminate all trace of the oil . goo gone will get it out no rpblem..check walmart I worked in a steel shop for years and was constantly covered in grease everyday....the best way to get grease out of the jeans is to use sudsy ammonia and pine sol. Rub the pine sol on the grease and add the ammonia to the regular detergent. Go easy on the ammonia for it will destroy your jeans over time. |
